November starts TODAY, and because it has been a tough year in terms of being able to sit down and write more than a short story or poem here and there, I’ve chosen November as the month in which I’m doubling down and getting that third novel blasted out. It also coincides with the fact that the bulk of the crazy home repairs that had me tied up most of the year are just about done, and I’m really excited to move onto other things, oh, like LIFE. It is also NaNoWriMo, and while I normally don’t believe you have to wait until November to light a fire under your hinie and write a book, it just so happens that this year, that is exactly my situation. So be it.
Back in February it was announced that VTZH was a finalist for the North Street Book Prize in Independent Publishing (scroll all the way down in the announcement link to see my name), but I was too busy to let everyone know. It was a few days before Valentine’s Day, and one of the best Valentine’s gifts I’ve ever received. Now that things have calmed down a bit, I’m finally shouting it from the treetops in the form of a blog post. 🙂
