Vegan for the Zombie Apocalypse: Pumpkin Banana Power Shake

G.G. Silverman 30-day Vegan Experiment Pumpkin Power ShakeSo, you just woke up in your apocalypse safehouse and have to tackle a morning of zombie slaying. No worries—this vegan protein-filled pumpkin shake will have you sharpening your axe and grinning like Jack Nicholson in no time. Made from all shelf stable ingredients from your emergency food pantry (you do have one, don’t you?), it’s also pretty nummy.

• ½ cup of pure pumpkin puree, canned
• 4-5 oz. of banana purée (comes in jars as baby food)
• ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk, from a shelf-stable package
• 2 tablespoons almond butter
• 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
• 1 tablespoon of hemp hearts

Throw these into a blender (or hand-blend if your safehouse doesn’t have a backup generator), then pour into a glass and drink up. Cheers!
